Use Leaves From Your Yard As Decor

Halloween has come and gone (well, almost), and that means Fall is in full swing. What comes with Autumn? A plethora of brightly colored leaves, and they’re all too familiar in Ashland. But while these can form pesky mounds in your yard, they can, likewise, contribute to the beauty of your home’s interior. Here are a few ways to use leaves in your décor!

Preservation

First and foremost, you’ll want to preserve the selection. This can be easily achieved through the use of Mod Podge glue, sealer and finish. It’s an all-in-one product that’s water-based and non-toxic. So, get the kids involved!

Decorate Countertops

It’s a small and subtle touch but tossing foliage atop your counters can spruce up your interior! But before you jump in, make sure they’re far from candle flames or stove tops! You can even sprinkle them with glitter to really brighten the room.

A Leaf Banner

This project requires string, clothes pins, and leaves. You can layer the leaves or create a beautiful Fall pattern by attaching them to the string with the clothes pins. Hang this across your mantel and you’ve successfully brought the outdoors inside.

Decoupage Leaves

If you’re not into carving pumpkins, this is a wonderful alternative. You can use the Mod Podge to attach the colors of fall to your Jack-O-Lantern. It’s a unique and beautiful aesthetic that is sure to rake in the compliments.

Frame Your Favorites

Create seasonal décor by framing your favorite leaves. After preserving, attach them to a neutral background and slip it into a frame. If you’re not one for a colored backdrop, simply position them as you desire in the glass itself.
