Hiking the Grizzly Peak Trail is a great way to spend an afternoon while staying with us at the Bard’s Inn Hotel.
The trail is family-friendly, and located just 12 miles east of Ashland. You can expect to see phenomenal views of the Rogue Valley as well as the entire city of Ashland. We recommend to continue on the loop trail past the top of 5,922-foot Grizzly Peak for the best views of the peak. On a clear day, you’ll see the Cascade Mountains, including Mt. McLoughlin and Mt. Shasta. There are also beautiful summer windflowers to enjoy throughout your hike. Taking a hike on Grizzly Peak is just one of the fun, and socially-distanced things to do in Ashland, Oregon this summer.
Know Before You Go:
-The trail is open to hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians.
-There are no fees for parking or hiking Grizzly Peak.
-The Grizzly Peak trail head is 3 miles one way with a total climb of 700 feet in elevation. On average, the trail loop takes 2-3 hours to complete.
