Seasonal Activities

Ashland is the gateway to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, which offers an abundance of recreation and culture. A unique mix of physical beauty and recreational opportunities, Southern Oregon boasts year-round activities such as white-water rafting, biking, fishing, skiing, outdoor concerts, farmer’s markets, and more.

For the most up-to-date events and activities, check in first with the Ashland Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce maintains an active calendar of all upcoming events and community happenings in the City of Ashland. Their website also provides comprehensive guides based on interests — from culinary to cultural to outdoors — and sample itineraries for visitors like you.

Britt Festivals

Locals eagerly await the annual Britt Festival line-up announcement every spring, as the breath-taking outdoor stage hosts country, acoustical, classical, rock and pop stars under a backdrop of mountain views and stars. This Jacksonville venue’s performance season runs June-September, and visitors can choose reserved seating up front by the stage, or open lawn seating just above. We recommend bringing a picnic dinner and bottle of wine (for those concerts that allow alcohol to be brought in), or simply bring your appetite and enjoy fare from the many food and beverage vendors.

Mount Ashland

Mount Ashland is the highest peak in the Siskiyou Mountains, with ski runs covering 200 acres, served by four chairlifts. Even advanced skiers can find a suitable challenge on Mt. Ashland’s steep, glacier-scoured terrain. In summer, the mountain becomes a wild flower-covered haven for bicyclists and hikers.

Lithia Artisan’s Market

Artists and craftspeople from Southern Oregon and Northern California exhibit and sell their handmade work on weekends at the Lithia Artisans’ Market, which runs from early April through mid-November. Hours are Saturday 10AM-6PM and Sunday 11AM-5PM. The market is about a block from The Bard’s Inn, on Calle Guanajuato behind the shops of the Plaza.

Rogue Valley Grower’s and Crafter’s Market

Tuesdays and Saturdays from March to November, the Rogue Valley Growlers and Crafters Market brings a host of local goods and produce to Ashland. Fresh fruits and vegetables (including legendary strawberries), delicious ready-to-eat foods, a wide assortment of fine handicrafts, and homemade products are sold at these weekly events. Enjoy casual live music and fun activities, including contests where the winners receives purchase tokens for the market!
